When u would have a winratio of 3 in LoL or other games with a "proper" mmr-system you would rank up sooo fast. Sorry but the system isnt good when it doesnt "see" that i doesnt belong to this elo. The problem is that the way it displays your rank makes it seem like it's tossing random arbitrary numbers at you. Contrary to Kappa's comment, it's a really good system. Originally posted by obliviondoll:There's a sticky explaining the system. Once you're consistently performing at a level appropriate for your (invisible) mean rating, variance will be reduced by the majority of both your wins AND your losses, and your rating will seem to rise faster. If your results aren't matching where the system is currently ranking you, then your rating will be held back even while you're winning. If you're pairing with a friend, and their rating is going up faster than yours, it's probably because the results of your games have been more consistently in line with what the system expects from them to be, while your results have been less predictable. This is modified by subtracting 3x a "variance" value, which is a calculation of how accurate your current "mean rating" is. The main problem is that the game only tells you one number, which is an "adjusted rating".
